To microwave green bean casserole, prepare the green bean mixture in a microwaveable bowl (according to the recipe) and cook until completely heated through while making sure to stir beans halfway through cooking time. Top with French Fried Onions and cook for additional 1 minute. The final consistency may be runny after taking out from the microwave but will thicken as it stands before serving. Can you reheat green bean casserole in the microwave?

Absolutely, just transfer the dish into a microwaveable bowl, cover with a microwave safe lid (i.e. parchment paper) and transfer into the microwave.

Heat on medium at 2 minutes bursts until the dish completely heats through. Make sure to stir the casserole between intervals in order to distribute the heat faster.

After heating, you want to add some onion topping (cause there’s no green bean casserole without those crunchy fried onions in my opinion), and cook the dish for additional 30 seconds. That’s totally optional though!

And there you go, a properly reheated green bean casserole done in the microwave.
